Area Introduction Video
1.Hiroo/ Minamiazabu : Luxury Community
Located in the Southwest of central Tokyo, the Hiroo district has possibly the highest concentration of foreign residents of any part of Tokyo. This can be explained by its proximity to a number of international schools and pre-schools, a large park and an international supermarket, as well as by the abundance of spacious, high quality housing available in the area.

On one side of Hiroo station is Hiroo Plaza, a small shopping complex containing a supermarket, banks and travel agency. There is also a lively shopping street that has a distinctly Japanese feel. However, the restaurants that can be found there reflect the area’s international character. In addition to Japanese favorites like sushi and ramen noodles, you can enjoy Thai, Mexican, Indian and American cuisine.

Just a couple of minutes from Hiroo subway station is National Azabu, one of only a handful of supermarkets in Tokyo that specializes in imported goods, which makes it a major draw for expatriates seeking a taste of home.

Hiroo is also home to Minato ward’s largest park, Arisugawa Memorial Park, which is a perfect place for a relaxing stroll at the weekend. This largely woodland park is a green oasis in the heart of the city, and includes an ornamental Japanese garden with a large pond, as well as recreational facilities such as tennis courts and a children’s playground.

2. Azabujuban : Mixture of traditional and western culture

Azabujuban is a vibrant and appealing neighborhood. While it is located just a ten-minute walk from the bars and clubs of Roppongi, it has a sedate and traditional atmosphere that is unusual among the hustle and bustle of central Tokyo. There are a large number of luxury apartments in the vicinity, which makes it an attractive area for expatriates.

The district is centered on a long shopping strip, which is relatively free of traffic and offers a pleasing mixture of interesting shops, cafe’s and restaurants. While there are a handful of international chains, the majority of the shops are small, independent retailers.

Besides the area’s unique character, convenience is another reason to choose to live in Azabu Juban. Two subway lines intersect at the end of the shopping street, and provide quick access to any part of central Tokyo.

Within a short walk of the Azabu Juban station is Tokyo’s largest international supermarket. It offers a great selection of imported and Western-style goods including sliced meats, cheese, bread and cereals, which are usually not widely available in Japanese stores.
